  1. Jane, I believe you hit the nail on the head. People of Illinois don’t trust their politicians and with good reason. Thanks for speaking up for us taxpayers. Almost every week, I read internet comments that talk about states with the worse tax rates in the US. The most recent was the one talking about states with the highest rate of citizens leaving. Illinois ranked 3rd behind New Jersey and New York. It’s ridiculous. My wife and I are among the ones seeking to leave this state. Thanks for your comments.

  2. Very good article and you hit the nail on the head. I have lived in Illinois since birth, (57 years). I am now looking at a joining state to move to as I near retirement. I love Illinois, but the Democratic machine (Or as we call it, the Madigan Machine), has pretty much ruined this state. I do not trust the elected politicians and until they decide to do something good for this state instead of always raising taxes to no effect, I’ll continue to explore retirement living out of Illinois.

  3. Illinois is by far the most fiscally mismanaged state in the union. I will leave this state eventually because of absurd property and State Income tax rates, but until our current socialist leadership embraces the fundamental first law of economics, that there are “no free lunches”, we will unfortunately continue to slowly but surely succumb to the quick stand of debt they’ve created. Why on God’s green earth would ordinary taxpayers have to support educators/teachers/government workers, etc., to ensure they receive free MONEY and HEALTH INSURANCE for the remainder of their days once they stop working. It is absolutely insanity and a day of fiscal reckoning will certainly come.
