Is it a good thing, or a problem, or just a thing-that-will-be, that the world’s population will shrink, assuming that does come to pass?

I dont say Bricker and Ibbitsons predictions will be the truth of the future, but I think their book is very important and has to be taken very serious. Before UN launch the next population forecast they should very carefully take the critics of their recent forecasts very serious. Bricker and Ibbitson are not alone in their critics of UN forecasts.
Its very important to have as valid as possible projections because the projections has very big influence en planning and investments in energy, food supply, environment, transport and city planning. Just taking UN numbers for valid may lead to tremendous mistaken investments.
